The School of Social Work at Arizona State University is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education to award the BSW and MSW degrees. The MSW program has been accredited since 1965 and the BSW program has been accredited since 1974.

In Spring 2009, the School's application to CSWE for reaffirmation of its combined social work degree program was reviewed by a Site Team and by the Council's Commission on Accreditation. In June 2009, we were notified that the Commission had voted to reaccredit the program for the full eight-year cycle ending June 2016. The site team noted a number of strengths, including strong administrative support from the Dean of the College of Public Programs, an articulate student body, and mission and goals which are clearly identified with serving the special populations of the Southwest. The Site Team also noted that the School of Social Work is:

"Strong, well-organized with a unique mission focused on the context of the Southwest;"

has a"Dynamic, enthusiastic faculty;"

and the "Climate of the school is positive and differences are acknowledged

in a way that models appreciation"
