In 1981, Jackie Davidson received her MSW from Arizona State University School of Social Work in Tempe, AZ. She worked at Maricopa Medical Center in the mental health unit and in Pediatrics followed by St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix for 7 years. She served on the first committee for AIDS in the hospital and conducted workshops on psycho-social issues and grief and loss for nurses in the critical care units. She also conducted outpatient groups for patients in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. She helped open Mercy Hospice and supervised the social workers, chaplains, volunteers, bereavement staff, marketers and office staff. When Mercy Healthcare AZ opened its Assisted Living facility for Memory Care, she went there as the manager. Having obtained her license as a director for Assisted Living for dementia care from the state of AZ. she served as director for three other facilities. Wanting a new experience in social work, Jackie moved to Northern AZ. and worked in a charter high school with 5 campuses from the Whiteriver Indian Reservation to Winslow and Holbrook. She implemented a positive behavior support program in the schools and educated staff on how to handle behavioral problems in the classroom. During this time she served as Chair of the Ethics committee of the AZ. Chapter of NASW. After returning to Phoenix she did consulting work for the AZ Department of Education and the University of New Mexico to continue working in schools across AZ. Currently, Jackie is a fulltime lecturer at ASU at the West campus. Courses Taught:
