BSW Child Welfare Scholars Program
The Undergraduate Child Welfare Training Program is a collaborative effort between the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program of the Arizona State University (ASU)/School of Social Work and the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES)/Child Protective Services (CPS). The BSW Scholars Program is directed by Dr. Teri Kennedy and coordinated by Tonia Stott and Jan Shore.
The goal of the program is to recruit and train bachelor's level social workers to be competent Child Protective Services workers.
BSW students receive payment of their in-state tuition and mandatory student fees for their junior and/or senior years in the BSW program. In exchange, students contractually agree to work full-time at Arizona's Child Protective Services upon graduation. The work committment is between one and two years, depending on the level of tuition assistance received.
