Young Adults from Foster Care
YAFC Research Project
Students involved in the Child Welfare Training Project assisted PhD Candidate, Tonia Stott, in interviewing young adults who had recently aged out of foster care about their well-being and experiences in foster care. This project was funded by a NIDA R36 Dissertation Grant.
Placement instability while in foster care was found to be a small, but none-the-less statistically significant predictor of substance use, depression, network orientation, and connectedness in young adulthood. Click on the link below to view the results
