The Ph.D. Program Committee considers applications for admission to the Ph.D. Program in February. An M.S.W. from an accredited school of social work with two or more years of post-MSW employment experience in human services is preferred. Though an MSW is preferred, exceptions may be made for students with a B.S.W. from an accredited school of social work and a master's degree in a related field, and for students from countries without accreditation. All applicants are evaluated based on their Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, career interests, letters of recommendation, breadth of background and experience, and goodness of fit with the Ph.D. program goals. A score of at least 1,000, verbal and quantitative combined, is desired on the GRE. The School typically admits a cohort of six students per year. Applications received after February 1st will be considered based upon space availability.
