Arizona State University began its Ph.D program in social work in 1981. Since its inception, our doctoral program has graduated 55 students who are highly sought after. Many are now faculty members in major research universities throughout the country and internationally; others hold senior positions in federal and state governments and in the non-profit sector. Our students come with rich and varied experiences and originate form a large number of states and from foreign countries. Thanks to generous support from ASU and ongoing research grants, our graduation rate has reached 85%, and most students complete the degree in less than four years.
