  • Merck is one of the giant pharmaceutical companies which makes many popular medications, including Fosamax (for osteoporosis), Singulair (for asthma) and Maxalt (for migraines). Like most pharmaceutical companies, Merck has a pharmaceutical assistance program, which assists people who are uninsured or underinsured, with the cost of medications.  This covers many medications made by Merck (but does not include vaccines). In response to the current global economic crisis, they have significantly raised the income limits for eligibility.
    The new income limits are:
Individuals who make less than $44,000 per year may be eligible for one year of free medications.
Couples who make less than $58,000 per year may be eligible.
Families of 4 who makes less than $89,000 per year may be eligible.
Also, seniors who victims of the Medicare "Donut Hole" where medications are not covered may also be eligible.
They do not ask about citizenship or ask for a social security number, and this is a global program, not just for the US.
For more information, go to http://www.merck.com/   and click on the
