About the CWTP
The project began in 1988 and is funded by the Child Welfare Field Education and Student Support Project, a Title IV-E grant. The project is directed by Dr. Christina Risley-Curtiss and Dr. Nora Gustavsson and is coordinated by Jan Shore, MSW and Tonia Stott, MSW.
Mission The mission of the Project is to serve vulnerable Arizona families.
Goals
- Prepare students in the School of Social Work to be competent and effective Child Welfare practitioners who appreciate the diversity of the population of the Southwest.
- Provide the citizens of Arizona with Social Workers who have an understanding of the professional knowledge base and can work collaboratively to promote change.
- Promote professional Social Work practice within the field of child welfare through the financial support of qualified Master's of Social Work candidates.
- Enhance the child welfare knowledge base through empirical research.
